ok, there's some interesting things here.....

first of all, about the auto tranny: http://pollito.no-ip.com/turbod16/vi...utomatic+turbo

secondly....

does your brother and your friend still have the y7 intake manifold?

see, if you would have bothered reading all my posts, you would have noticed that I'm switching out my IM and my exhaust system is getting redone. That accounds for over half of the 21 hp difference between the y7 and the y8. The other big difference between the two is vtec, but that doesn't make a world of a difference. Not enough to convince me I need a new engine to get some power.

thirdly....

I thought you were smarter than this

what in the fuck would my tranny have to do with hp? Yes, I'd have problems pushing 180hp with it. I'm sure it would blow at 200hp. But I'm pretty confident I could get 160 out of 8psi. And thats being conservative.

now then, allow me to show you the REAL issue with auto trannys and boost. It isn't producing numbers. Its producing 1/4 mile times.

Auto's have nothing off the line, u can't even launch them, they rock from a roll, but no one wants to race me from a roll.

The best way to launch is a nutural drop, but it ****s up the tranny.

when i got out street racing, or at the runs, it's hard to find someone to race from a run, i can smoke si's and gsr's moded with my car, from a roll, but they ****en kill me if we race from a stop.
but then there's torque breaking:

Brake Torque is Crap, did it that the track slower times then a nutural drop, + i can only get it to 3.5k and my car boosts hard after 4k.
the whole thread is here: http://pollito.no-ip.com/turbod16/vi...utomatic+turbo

see, if my turbo spools low enough, like some of the better BB snails, then I shouldn't have a problem there.

but wait a minute.....
oh yeah, I don't race

therefor, this entire issuse is resolved. I just want some passing power. And there's not many boosted y7s, so blow me :fawk:

I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna shock your mama

An automatic tranny is going to steal more power than a manual will. Thus your whp will be lower. I thought you were smarter? Oh well, ricer. :fawk:

Also you will need amazing tuning to make 160whp on 8 psi. But with your vast knowledge of turbo hondas you already knew that.

I like the idea of saving a little on the motor, and spending more money on internals and the turbo (esp. fuel managment and professional tuning)

Here is an idea: Turbo the stock motor, see what you think. Run it into the ground And then a low-budget swap, and put your turbo on the new car, and you'll have the experience under your belt at that point.

stock = 106 + 10 (IM and exhaust)=115

are you saying it's hard to pull 45 hp on 8psi?

btw, there's a d16y7 coupe that pushes 145whp 138wtq @ 6psi with MSD BTM at 1/3 degree retard per 1lb of boost, with a y7 IM.
