Default B Series Goal Setup

Heres the deal.. the fastest car in the guys we usually chill with is a mercedes-benz clk 430 with amg package... i think its just some body skirts and an exhaust system, but he also has got a new chip so i think hes pushin somewhere just under 300hp to the crank up from the stock 275hp.... anyways ... this guy is TURBOCHARGING this 4.3L v8 machine!... he says he'll have it by next summer, anyways i need a setup with my 1998 honda civic cx to be able to catch his turbo car... he says it will reach over 400hp to the crank with the turbo but anyways i need a setup to be able to keep up/beat this car .... im up for an engine swap something in the b series of honda engines?? what u guys think??

id do a nice GSR swap then turbo it. there is a guy over on HT who has a cx hatch, gsr engine, turbo, 3 inch thermal exhaust.. etc. and beat an 03 cobra with drag radials and some other stuff done. this is the route i would recommend. the b16 is a nice engine, IF it comes with the car. i wouldnt pay for this to be swapped in. ill find a link to the kill story

:blah:
is there a big prize ur gettin after u beat him?

seriously, does it really matter?

to answer ur question, swap a b18, fully built the beeotch and then boost it to hell along with guttin ur entire interior down to just a seat, 5 inch tach, and a steering wheel.

yeah i guess its not really important but i just want to have a fast car and after that guy turbos his benz he will be one of the fastest in the lot if i can beat him i can beat alot of ppl there.. another idea was to build a n/a engine that revs to 10k and is built for corners... wouldnt it be just as fine on the corners with a big turbo like u guys said? ok what would i need if i get the turbo... i was looking at this article i have on an older honda tuning magazine and they were showing the new GReddy turbo kits for the gs-r and the si well it added like 65 hp to the integra but it was only running at 7.8 psi and the turbo was an 18G (the first generation eclipse came with a 14G turbo, significantly smaller) so im guessing u can turn the boost up hardcore (anyone know how high?) with the 18G as long as ur internals can handle it so i was thinking:

Swap B18c1
Brakes
Cold Air Intake (or do i need a short ram for the turbo? can i use the CAI on the turbo?> how does this work)
DC Sports Header
Full Cat back Exhaust
reprogram ecu
short shift kit

anti sway bars in the front and back might take out my back seats
and can u put an anti sway bar under the car at the back?? i was told u can

maybe lower the car

then i will save for a turbo, slap the turbo on it cuz this GReddy kit was on a stock internal gs-r in the mag... at this point i would put bigger injectors on

save up
get low compression pistons, new camshafts, new valve springs
turn up the boost
save up again
port and polish the valves and w/e is left to do (what IS left? )
turn up the boost

what do you all think about this? what else should i do.. what am i missing?

thanks in advance..

either u go high reving na or go boost. for corners, forget the turbo, keep it na, cuz if ur goin for all speed, a big turbo will definetly add seconds to ur corner times due to the lag a bigger turbo on the low end of the powerband.

those r some pretty impressive plans u got there. y dont u first focuz on suspension before power. u wouldnt want to lose control of that power if ur car isnt stable to handle it. do things one at a time, u r goin way over ur head.

and last but not least, used the SEARCH button.

wow, looks like the list of mods I had when I decided to start working on my first car.

maybe try starting somewhere, and then going from there. :dunno:

and if you boost, you don't need a cai or a header.
