If you look under your hood there is a sticker that tells you what the sp gap should be. Most plugs come pre-gapped nowadays. Doesn't hurt to double check though.

Learned something new today.
I haven't had an OEM hood for so long, I've forgotten the obvious secrets. :happysad:

well, i hope they were pregapped b/c theyre already in...i drove it lastnight when he was finished and its exactly the same as before. but, i had no problems w/ the way it drove or felt or anything when my light came on...so theres no difference to notice.! h: my light didnt go off and we dont know how to get it off. we tried unhooking the battery and pulling the fuse under the hood for like 30 seconds, but it didnt work. so im going back to auto zone today to have it reset and pray that it doesnt come back on.

im also going to advanced autoparts to kick the guys ass who sold me ALL THE WRONG PARTS! i hope and pray they were the right plugs and wires, b/c the distributor cap and rotor werent the right ones...and here's the funy part, the guy that sold the shit to me has a civic himself and is opening an aftermarket shop to go swaps and turbos etc etc... he's going to be putting aftermarket parts in peoples cars but cant even give me the right basic parts to make my car GO to begin with. WOW! he's going to get far.

WESTCOAST- i got Bosch Platinums...the part # is 4230. so if anyone with my gen civic ever got the same spark plugs, do u remember if thats the same part # u got?

anyway, thanks for all ur help!!

IT'S BACK ON!!

and listen to this...i go back to advanced autoparts today to get the RIGHT dist. cap...and the guy is telling me that my car isnt vtec! i said the hell it isnt! EX's are SOHC vtec..its not the same as DOHC, but its still vtec! and he said..well, its not on the valve cover! i said, thats b/c they dont put it on the valve covers anymore and dont argue w/ me about what my car is and isnt. ive researched it and i know!

apparently thats the reason that i got the wrong parts, b/c in their database there, my car isnt considered vtec! so stupid!

so, at this point my light is back on, the car is runing ok, i have no idea what is wrong, its 100 degrees outside, and im tired of putting money into my car! i havent checked the code yet...i'll let u all know what it is when i find out...since i know ur all so interested! :upset:

I'd love to :slap: that guy... what an idiot..

So, I guess your car isn't a honda anymore if you debadge it? :chuckles: doesn't say it anymore.. haha

Recheck the code yourself to see if it's still the same as before.

I'm tired of putting money into my car too. :wtc:

how many miles do you have?

DTC P0301-P0304 are cylinder misfires.

on 97 civics (except HX models) there is a service bulletin (99-011) that covers replacement of a faulty ECM that causes these codes to be thrown, but with no driveability problem.

emissions extended warranty covers this for 14 years / 150,000 miles.

if you have any fuel/emission related problems with a 95 accord V6, or any 96-97 honda (excl. passport) bring it to the dealer. they'll fix it for free.

i have 77200+ miles...

i already know that i had a misfire. we replaced all the spark plugs and such...

but its given me the same code TWICE now for a bad oxygen sensor...the SAME oxygen sensor.. i replaced the primary one ("A", up front under the hood) last night..and 40 miles after i reset the check engine light it came back on...that is my current problem. i bought the car used with no warrenty and i dont want to take it to a honda dealer and then fix it and lube and probe me up the ass b/c I DONT HAVE THE $ to pay them! im trying to avoid honda dealers at all costs!
