If you have the ability to drive you car every day with the possibility that you have one of our motors in your car.. do it.

I would find you and kill you if it were my motor. I've spent over $10k on my motor and over 2 years. If it got stolen, I'd be on it 24/7... you buy it, you take on the responsibility that goes with it. If it's mine, that means you get your ass beat farther than you can imagine.

jmo..............

Now what if someone bought an engine not knowing it had been stolen? Would you still beat his ass? I've gotten about 10 different engines in the last few years, kept some, sold others. I don't know the history on half of them. The other half, I pulled myself out of cars that had been totalled, bought from friends that had done the same, or gottent hem from junkyards. The half that I don't know the history on, I got from local people that seemed trust worthy, "I pulled this motor when I put in my b18..." If someone told me that, and it ended up being your stolen engine, and you shot me, wouldn't that make you feel like an ass??? It's all about the knowledge. If someone came out and and said it was stolen, I don't think I'd buy it. If I had just hydrolocked my engine, and it was my only car, and someone wanted to sell me a stolen d16z6 for 100 bucks, it would be a hard choice. Get to work on monday, or wait until I find something a couple weeks later... You can always find a ride to work, but Americans are so damn impatient. Put in the same situation, I'd pass on the deal he has.

no one would buy a motor or a substantial part of a car really without first checking the vin or something. this is different though. he KNOWS its stolen.

What if you buy the engine and get it installed and then the dirt bags come back and steal the whole car from you...what do you do call the pigs and say "Dude, somebody stole the car that I just put a stolen engine in!" You'll be in the bullpen right next to the dirt bag crew waiting to get shived or you cut your losses and have no ride, either way you're screwed!

If you buy it and I meet you I'll break your nose just for the hell of it. You're just egging the bastards on to steal my stuff...don't be dumb, earn your ride.

too damn risky. dont go for it. i know someone that got their vin#'s check and he thought he bought his h23 swap legit fr 2k. turns out it was stolen from some older guys prelude and he pressed charges for having it stolen. they dont know if you took it or not, just that you have it. that's all that matters. again, it's not worth putting your own neck on the line. just get a decent job and work a while to pay it off. it's not that bad, and a load off your mind.

I wouldn't do that stupid shit. considering the person lives in the same town as you, how do you know he won't go talk to the person he stole it from and say that you stole it and its in your car? perhaps he wants to install it for cheap so he can get info on YOUR car to tell people that you stole a B18 engine. think a little before you do stupid shit. also why wouldn't he tell the person he stole it from that YOU stole it? he just made money off your ass, he will have nothing to loose execpt see you go to jail and pay even more of a fine. i'd say don't do it but i guess its up to you, but please please post if you get caught i think that would be funny as hell.. or if you get your car bashed in or your ass almost killed... please feel free to post!!
