depends on the state you get caught in...if they find out & you can't prove it's legit they can confiscate it at the minimum...or you could face charges of receiving/possessing stolen property.

for those that have legally obtained a new motor...be sure to carry a receipt w/your registration...you don't need to give the cops any reason to **** with ya...and some will pounce on any opportunity to do just that...

like i said before...it's a B18C1 for a g...but then again it's a stolen B18C1 for a g...you'll have to be thinkin about that every time you get stopped...every time you get inspected...every time you get in your car...

you'll probably never be caught. but you never know...

Depends on where you live, if you live in Cali or a state that have pretty strick emmision checks, it's not worth the risk. If you live in NV or FL, it's really not likely anyone will check your motor's VIN. I'd say don't buy it, but it is a good price.

around the bay area illegals the cops will block in all the cars and record vin#'s on cars and motors, your name, and a polaroid of you. I wouldn't want to be caught with a stolen motor in my car. They'll impound your ass.

harsh, but if you read all the thread, you'll notice he got it

as far as VIN # checking goes, I think as long as he's not in cali, there shouldn't be a problem.

I know here in texas, I could easily get away with it.

around here, if someone has a swap, most likely the engine is stolen. there are people with legit swaps, but they're a dime a dozen.

i personally would consider buying stolen parts, just cause there are a lot of people who steal cars and parts around here and i can get my hands on something very easily. but for something like an engine, i'd have to think long and hard.

Wel I live in NV and know plenty of police officers in LVMPD and Henderson and they will inspect every vehicle at any street race and if the VIN # does not match or returns stolen through NCIC you will lose not only the engine but you r car for a while.......

So I can't wait to see you get cought for a felony charge.... Possesion of stolen property at that value = 1-5 years + fines

No

The next ROTW has had his car impounded because he purchased a stolen motor. He was at HIN in Houston and HPD came in, took him to jail, and towed his car out of the show.

He bought it off of eBay and it came with paperwork, but it still came up stolen. In your case where you are knowingly buying stolen property, if you are caught you will serve time.

If you have no personal values at least let federal law hold you back, just my 2¢.
