Default thinking of buying a 94 ex coupe

so like the title says i am thinking of buying this civic coupe that went on sale in my condo complex, i kinda know the "lil old lady" that owns it...

its a 94 ex, with 45,000 miles, she is the original owner and i hate parking next to her cause she always keeps that damn thing clean all year round...lol

so anyway, what do you think i should pay for it? are there any recalls or problems specific to that year/model i should know about? what other problems should i look for? thanks in advance.

That's a great deal. Depending on where you live I'd say about 6k tops. What does she want for it?

i know! (you mean that in a good way right?) and it looks immaculate...

i left her a message to see what she is asking for it, the for sale sign on the car only had a phone number to call...

i'll keep you posted...

there are some problems hondas have over time....

but this is the list of things likely to go out, pretty much in the order shown:

- a/c
- radiator/coolent system
- head gasket

thats about it, unless its not maintained/driven properly.

Check fluid levels and whatnot, make sure she's been changing that oil at the right times, things of the sort.

just take it to a certified honda mechanic (doesn't have to be a dealership) and have them check it out. $6k sounds reasonable.

thanks for the info, as far as the radiator goes, is it better to spend money on an aftermarket radiator and head gasket or should i just go oem..i imagine when i get a chance to look under the hood i should look for any leaks...

anything else?
