I would be curious as well as to what that guy has in mind to build it to create that much power. I would bet it would be pretty expensive.

these sohc non-vtec motors are very fragile when it comes to boost. The rods are very thin compared to the sohc vtec motors. 200hp is very impressive out of a y7.

My buddy had 202whp on a greddy kit at 12psi on a jdm d15b just to put things into perspective.

he mentioned hp only. but 200 hp with NOS only, can't be done without spending some $ on head-work, redone internals, etc...

just get a turbo like 'Cashis EG8's' buddy

they said 200hp out of a dx, they didnt say 200hp out of a dx with stock internals. read between the lines. 200hp out of a dx is possible. bisi was running basically a dx 1.5L engine when he got into the 10s. so its very possible.

actually, I think he mentioned something like $5000.

not sure on how much of that is going to the engine, or if there's other work (exterior, suspension, etc) he was planing on doing.

But then again, this shop we're talking about thought my LX engine had vtec. :screwy:

i was actually thinking about this kind of thing today. i have a d16z6, but i suupose some of the same principles could be applied. without boost, i think you would have to go with N2O. but like Never said, they didn't say stock internals. that would probably be impossible. but i'm sure if you really built the motor the right way, 200hp isn't impossible. i was thinking this because i want to build by sohc vtec motor up instead of swapping, atleast for now. a d16 pushing 200hp would be awesome.
