Default d16y7 = 200 hp?!?

just curious about this.

I have a friend with a 98 dx, and he was saying he was at a speed shop and they told him he could get 200hp out of a y7 engine. I told him they're blowing smoke up his ass, but who knows? Am I wrong, or are they?

I think the methods used would be NOS. I asked if it was FI, and he said no. I didn't think there would be any other way to do this, and besides, the block can't handle FI, so I sure doubt it could handle NOS, or at least something substancial to improve his hp times two.

cause y7's are weaker engines. :dunno:

everyone told me FI on my lx engine wouldn't be a good idea. And since the lx's and dx's run the same drivetrain.....

I think it'd be hard to squeeze 200hp outta a DX or LX motor. THat's why I dropped in the B18C1 $$$$

I would like to do the same to my '98 Civic EX sometime. How much did it run you for the swap and where did you get it??

how could it handle that high of a shot? These engines aren't supposed to survive 7psi. :wtf:
