so if you got, say a ZC (1.6 dual cam-no vtec) youd be in SM, but you can get a B16 and be in STX!?!?! Talk about a loophole!

You should double or triple check on those rules tho, sounds kinda fishy.

But if that is the case, consider yourself lucky! Honda never put an engine with the power(and certainly not the torque) I want in a 5th gen. SM for me.

I'm pretty happy with my kumhos, and they hold up alright to autox, you might look into Yoko AVS es100 too. My roommates got those, and theyre pretty comprable, if not better. I think my next tires will be Azenis tho.

it's not necessarily a loophole, the rules allow you to swap engines within the same chassis, same as the eclipse guys swaping out for the turbo motors

but I think you have to have EVERYTHING changed over. Like for instance, If I were to get a 5th gen Si brake conversion, its illegal for STS, but if I were to get Si brakes, motor and tranny, swaybars etc, then it'd be OK. Do you actually have a copy of the book? I lost mine, but I remember it was very picky about that kinda stuff. Of course local tech inspectors wont hold you to the letter of the rules unless youre winning a lot (which is exactly why they allow me to have the afore mentioned illegal brake swap in STS h: )

Its funny, my normal all-seasons are so shitty that when I put my 205mm Kumhos on, I was like, "hey these are pretty quiet!"

How long have you had them? If you've had them for more than a year, I'd check the sidewall on them (especially the other side that you don't see).

I currently roll on Toyo FZ4's. All I have to say is:

I should have bought T1-S's.

so it looks like you'd be DSP, according to that one guy who quoted the book.... being, as he said, a civic SOHC and DOHC ('96+)

Boy, look at us. Talk about a thread hijacking. :exnbp:
