well i wus told that my 97 hx coupe has vtec but im not too sure on that.
but anyways, i wus driving down the highway the other day and went to
pass a truck so i was going about 85 around 5k/rpm, finished passing the
truck and i notice my CEL is on.

this happend wednesday morning and i still havent gotten it looked at
or what have you because i work FT. i do have tomr off and i guess ima
take it somewheres to be looked at. but any advice or soemthing would be
good. im just kinda cringing to see wut the people (whoever looks at
the car tomr) have to say.

how many miles does the motor have?

If its around 100k then maybe its something simple but costly like an O2 sensor.

that might not have started as early as 1997, but either way, what the hell is your point?

HX has VTEC, yes.

why dont you jump the ECU and read off the codes? do you know how to do that? it's real easy, and we cna teach you

just figured I'd point it out, considering that he didn't know much about the technical specs of his car. What the hell is your point of responding with a snotty answer like that? Does that accomplish anything other than making you come across as a dick?

it just seemed completely irrelevant...if the guy doesn't know a lot try to get his problem fixed rather than add more confusing information.

where is taht guy anyway....he needs to be telling us what code he was throwing

as far as the miles im just about to reach 65k, so i guess it shouldnt be
that O2 sensor your talking about, and as far as jumping the ECU or whatever
i know that thats the little box where a kickpanel would go on the passenger
side of the inside becus i saw it while running power wire to the rear of the car
for a system. so i need to go back to that box and do what to read numbers?

ps- sorry it took awhile to respond, my internet is fuqing with me
