I was wondering why people (or most ppl involved in car modification), take off their license plate in-front of the car and place it behind the windshield.

My questions are

1. Is this even legal? In all 50 states?
2. Why do they do this? (im assuming to hide it from cameras and cops...)

 

It is and it isn't legal, it's still visible, but it's in the window, i dunno.

Because it looks really crappy on the front bumper.

its not illegal, just un safe, if u do it get some suction cups and use it to hold it down, b/c if u get into an accident that plate becomes a projectile.

i do it like that cause im a hardcore ganster Yo' then everyone can see how hardcore i really am.. they are like "Shiat hiz plates up in da windo dawg.. dat dude muST be hardcore..."

 

I lost mine.

 

PA requires no front plate

 

i'm pretty sure IL does require them

 

i dont have mine on because the style body kit i have does not have a place to put a license plate on the front...
