I have a familiar mountain road nearby... Its been my best friend since I was 16, the olds, the supra, the civic...

Two times now, I have lost it due to very slightly abnormal road and visibility conditions. Both times I came damn near to killing myself, once my best freind was on board, and I would have never forgiven myself in this life or the next. By some weird miracle or freak occurence, nothing happened to me, him or the car on either occurence--the Man in charge, or whatever, definitely taught me a lesson. I never drive above 80% on any public road now. I save the 100% driving for autocross.

Whats weird, is I used to push the supra to its limits on that road... which was about twice as much speed on bad shocks and questionable tires, and never had a problem.... I guess the supra wasn't as prone to snap oversteer.

You know insurance companies have gone to hell when paying customers are afraid to file claims for fear of getting dropped or having their rates hiked... ah, capitalism, can't live with it, can't live without it.

Good luck with the rebuild.
