Default task of removing the stereo

Just an FYI - If you want to take out your stock radio/Cd player - it is not as simple as it seems. You are gonna have to basically take apart the whole dash board.
...but I did it, and a new head unit is in - back in love with my civic.

Ok, all I'm doing is installing a head unit. She doesn't need anything more than the stock speakers. I got the lower dash panels off, now how do I go about removing the stock HU?

Ok, so I've got the stock head unit unscrewed and it can almost come out, but its plugs are holding it in, and I can't reach in to remove them...any help?
