task of removing the stereo

mulletov: its easy to install the the newer HU down there. Remove the trim around the shifter area (6 screws). Then, there's some screws holding in either the din-slot or the OEM cd player (whatever you have in there). Basiclly, the new HU goes right in. Be careful about screws, as you don't want the screws that hold the HU in place to be too long. They might hit components inside the HU and make it fry up.
as for making the other cd player light up, I'm sure you could rig up a wire to run power to it, but I don't really care that much. My Clarion HU displays the time. Hell, if you really wanted to, they sell OEM clocks that go to the right of the upper din slot.
Oh I meant I have the oem cd player down there. Anyway I figured it out after messing with it for a couple mins. I stuck an aftermarket unit down there and it's pretty nice. The stock radio acts like a decoy. Although at night its completely dark.

however, it kinda has a porpose.... People look in, and see that sitting there
especially at night time, when its dark+my tint.
besides, its much harder to steal my HU now. Up top, its kinda difficult to get it bolted down. Most people (including myself
h: ) just kinda leave it loose.
down below, there's like 6 screws just to gain access. On top of that, I have the HU screwed in, so its not going anywhere without at least 20 minutes of work
and thats if you know the thing. Throw nighttime and no lights (assuming the pull the battery cable), and pretty much no worry about my cd player missing

2) no door locks = can't open door if power is disconnected (in order to over-ride alarm)
the most they can do is fawk up a window or two. Or wake up the neighbors....
Wow...nice technique, I never woulda thought of that. Stay the hell away from my car lol.

One more question though, is there any way to get a stock Honda 6 disc changer to work with an Alpine deck? I've heard the changers are made by Alpine anyway, so...
