Default Swapping a B16A1 in a 99 coupe, need help

We're picking up a b16A1 motor and tranny tomorrow. Can you tell me what other parts I need to make it fit. I was told I need a obd2 injectors and distribitor. But if I get the OBD1 harness and ECU, will the OBD2 injector clip in the harness? Also, what can i do about the tranny, since this is a cable, I will need either an adptor or a hydro trans, which I don't know how much they run for.

thanks

I was actually thinking about doing that swap. What model Civic is this? You may need motor mounts, possibly a harness adapter.

it's for a 99 ex

Also, what is required to put a gsr intake mani on the b16 head? anything special? Will the b16 TB work on the grs intake mani or do I need a GSR TB as well and throttle cable.

I think you will have to get the mounts. I have the same car and was going to do that swap.. prob would have saved me about 500 in parts, but I decided to go for the B18. I'm having a bit of trouble with figuring out which intake to use as well. Think you will need the SI throttle cable, but your harness and everything should owrk. Your mechanic may have to add a wire or to, possibly the IAB wire. Since you already ahve vtec its all good. Pretty straight forward swap from what I hear. Where are you located... slackin I might eb able to recommend someone to talk to since I called half teh US

thanks for ur responce, I'm in SoCal. Me and my roommate will prolly be doing the work along with the mech at the shop whos has experence with the swaps. We're basically using his help, the lift and tools for the job. We're just trying to get all the parts needed to complete the swap without having the to run back and forth looking for them once the car is on hte lift. It's not my money going into the swap, it my roommates, but this is a birthday present for his girl. What ecu and harness do i need? OBD1 or 2 and if I use the OBD1 ECU, do I still need the OBD 2 injectors and DIS.

Depends... you can get an OBD1 harness, but then you will need an adapter to make it work. If you get an OBD2 you will not. Should plug right up. The harness is another 250 about. Who told you to get rid of you injectors and DIS? I've never heard of that.

i hate to butt in and burst your bubble.. but i heard somewhere that, in california, it's illegal to swap a motor in that's older than the car chassis.. also, all JDM swaps are illegal in california.. i kno a lot of people don't care and they have their special "smog" people that will smog their car nonetheless, just make sure you don't get your hood popped by a bitch ass cop.. cuz u could be in trouble

yah I'm aware of the legal laws of the swap, yes u are correct in saying that u can't swap a motor in that is older then the year of the car. Not my car, nor my money so it's not my loss. They both know that the swap is illegal, they know the risk and know that cops can be dicks about it too. This was the main reason why i didn't buy a Honda, because the hassel of the swap and the legal issues behind it.

Nice coupe btw
