Here it is, the D15B. asiandoood, do you have any info on this engine? It's non-VTEC btw. It feels like a D15B7 too. Could it be a Euro or Japanese engine?

uhm...its kinda blurry

as far as I know for the japanese domestic market :

D15's came in two trims:

D15B VTEC
D15B twin carb

im ruling out that you have a twin carb engine. but since you said you dont have VTEC, im not even sure if this is a jdm motor or a frankenstein setup.

my best guess is a JDM D15 block with a US D15 (dx) head ??

w3rd.

Sorry for the blurry pic, here's a better one:

Your hypothesis could be true. Indeed there's no VTEC. No solenoid, no SOHC VTEC sound. Of course it can't be carburated. Were there any D15 engines produced in Europe? I heard there was a 1.5-liter SOHC VTEC-E engine for Euro Civics...but going back to the point, I don't have VTEC.

This is weird...but intriguing.

I had the engine replaced a month ago. I think doood is right, since my mechanic knows where to get Japanese engines. The thing is, why did he get rid of the VTEC? LOL... I ought to have a talk with him.

what was wrong with the previous engine?

my guess is that he just switched the blocks, and not the head.
