well on the street it could be a toss-up, many factors apply. But on the track something has to be up for the ex to beat out the Si with generally the same mods and supposedely equal drivers. 0-40 it might be even cause the SI doesnt have much more torque, but after that the vtec should do the rest of the work and the SI should be faster, is the SI getting a bad launch or what?

could happen as it looks like its a 1/8th track
the si, also known to many as the torqueless wonder, does not make its horsepower to well into the rpms, it makes 160 hp at 7600 rpm
with a bad launch a b16 takes a while to get up to speed
also at 70 mph the si's gearing means its in 3rd gear
with the ex cant it still be in 70, or is the gearing shorter?

I'm also curious to find out how much each driver weighs...
If the SI driver weighs 250 lbs vs. EX driver at 150 lbs, I won't doubt the EX will finish slightly ahead...

makes perfect sense...i used to keep up with i/h/e si's when i was i/h/e in my 00 ex but when they hit middle of 3rd around 70 they'd start walking pretty hard, same with the GSRs. The 1/8 mile tracks are mostly about the launch.
