Default Pipe Extension

I need to know the length of an extension pipe so i can have it made before I do my swap. As some of yo may know I am doing a B18C motor in a 99 Civic EX. I am using my stock header and cat for now, but they will not reach. So in order for the person to make me a pipe i need the length from the end of my header to the cat once I sawp the motor in. Thanks for your help!

ummm...you can't use the header from the D16Y8 in the first place. Why do you have a B18C1 with no header???

I think the d series headers do bolt up, they just don't make it around the oil pan.

Go to www.thepartstrader.com you should be able to find tons of stock headers for B series motors for cheap. In the meantime, I would just bust out a tape measure and see how much of an extension you need.....extension :naughty:

just wait till your next paycheck to swap it in and that way you can afford to use the right parts cause the d series wont fit!!!

just my $0.02

It's about 4 or 5 inches (if it's the same as the 5th gens). JDMB16EJ1's right though, you can't use the Dseries header on the Bseries head. In fact, you can only use a B18 header cause the B16 is not tall enough to wrap around - just a little tid bit for ya.

Just drive that bish up to the muffler shop open header

BTW, I have a stock exhaust maniforld for my B18C1 I'll sell ya if you need it. OR I can get DC Sports, Comptech, Apexi, Greddy and JG headers new. PM me if you need something.

My bad guys. When I said stock header I meant the one from the B series motor. I bought the motor off hmotorsonline. But I will be using my cat temporarily. I was gonna drive open header until I called the guy from testpipes.com and he said he can make me a true 2 and 1/2 inch extension. He just needs the length.

Actually I believe I can use the LS header and cat and it would reach wthout any problems. but I'd rather just buy the extension pipe for now since its only going to cost me 35 bucks. Damn this swap is costing me a lot of fukin money!!!!

Wrong, I have an LS header on my car and the flange is opposite to the rest of the exhaust.

That's a bogus rumor and I spent the money on it.

See, now you understand how easy it is to spend as much as I did on my swap... you think it's only about $3000, but it's much more. h:

I'm close to 5,0000!!!!

Here let me list them out, since you've been helpful And maybe you can help me with my final questin thats holding me up?

Price list

B18c w/ LSD tranny 3500 + 300 shipped = 3800
Installation(since I don't have the lift or tools) 500 = 4300
Now the extras!!!
hoses, throttle, cable, mounts, fluids prob around 200 = 4500
And my final thing... which I do not think I need....
a piggy back harness 250 = 4750 Total!!! WTF!

I have a 99 Civic EX and the engine is from a 97 OBD II A, mine is OBD II B, whatever you call it. Do I need to swap out my wiring harness or can I use my existing one? And if I can use my existing one... what "exactly" will have to change(diagrams are always helpful:thumbup: )? I appreciate all the info!!!

And if I do need a wiring harness where should i get it from?
