ive seen ctr cams go for about $550/set, while the cheapest ive seen sk2 is aorund 680-700.
from what ive heard, the ctr intake cam is more agressive than the itr, but the ctr and itr exhaust cams are the same
ive also heard its not necessary to upgrade the valvetrain with ctr or sk2 stage 1. can anyone verify this? i dont think i can trust the 10yr old retainers and springs in my motor.... btw, how fast can the stock drivetrain rev? im getting my ecu chipped, and the limiter wont kick in till 9k. i dont even take my motor past 7 now, i dont kno what use the extra 1k is gonna do anyway, unless i get some mad cams

you dont have to upgrade your valvetrain unless you plan on going past 8k usually i only want to know wich is a better deal. and does anybody kbnow if si cams are better than gsr.
There are advantages to both cams. I am having the same decision to make.
If you want better low end torque, get the CTR/ITR cams
If you want more HP in the high end, get the skunk2 stage 1 cams.
So, it is up to you which one you want. Also, try to take into account, what your plans are for the future too.

I went with the JDM ITR cams.. the Skunk 2 stage 2's would be one of the higher performance cams on the market..
They are streetable, but they're still not as safe with factory internals because they are designed for modified engines operating at higher revs...
...keeping in mind I'm daily driven, I ultimately went for the 'more' streetable ITR.
I believe the specs of the cams are as follows:
The ITR:
Intake: 11.5 mm, duration - 240 @ 1mm
Exhaust: 10.5 mm, duration - 235 @ 1mm
The SkAnk2 Stage 1:
Intake: 11.58 mm, duration 252 @ 1mm
Exhaust: 10.9 mm, duration 249 @ 1mm
Here's a dyno of the ITR intake cam:

The SkAnk2 produces slightly more overlap, but I think both will result in similar power gains.
SkAnk2 dyno:
It comes down to your budget.

I bought a set of Skunk2 stage 1 for $460 shipped...used once on the dyno. I am going with ITR valve springs and Crower Ti retainers, skunk2 gears and manifold, and a portmatched ITR TB. I checked around and did some research, Stage1 seems like the best cam for the street. Also, at $460 I couldn't turn it down.
The stage 2 will need a nice bump in compression to be effective, and some headwork...basically, it's more of a race cam than a street cam. More high end gains, though.
