Default lugnut torque

how much torque for putting on your wheels on a 98 honda civic?

80 ft/lbs. Make sure you use a torque wrench.

i did mine to 78ft/lbs, and now, the lugs are on there TOOOOO fawking tight, i had to get a braker bar to loosen them up, BUT some of the lugs stripped.

yea the spec is 80 ft pounds with a 19mm torque stick.

Put it on just tight enough so that you can remove them with your car accessories in case you get a flat. Specifications are always tighter than necessary.

Could it be possible that they seemed like they were on so tight because they were cross-threaded? Using a breaker bar isn't out of the ordinary at 80 ft-lbs. I slip a small pipe on my ratchet when i loosen my lugnuts.

I'd be careful though. If you make them too loose, they might not stay tight over time.
