I think my clutch is dead...gotta few questions
For the past few days the clutch hasn't been engaging properly especially right after starting the car on a cold morning. Tonight after starting the car (the car had been sitting in the cold for about 12 hours) the car didn't even want to go into gear anymore...had to wait about 10 minutes before it went in. There's also very little actual travel space left on the clutch pedal...I know this sounds very confusing but what I'm trying to say is that you can push the pedal down like there's no resistance at all then you'll finally start to feel some pressure. Sorry for the bad explanation but this is my first manual car as well as my first experience with a bad clutch, so it's kind of hard for me to explain. I'm thinking that my clutch is just about dead, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I also checked ebay for a new clutch and came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1922180171
I was wondering if this would be a good OEM replacement and if anyone has any comments or other suggetions. Also, would this clutch fit into my 95 Si? I'm kind of confused since it says "Honda Civic, 1.6L 92-00" but then it says "Honda Civic Del Sol, 1.6L 92-95, Non Vtec" When it says Non Vtec does that only mean no SOHC VTECs cause it says it'll fit all 1.6L civics from 92-00.
I'm very sorry for the long post, but as you can see I'm kind of confused here. thanks

i really cant say if your clutch is bad or not, if you think it is, then get a new one. and about that exedy clutch, if you go to the dealer that is what you will be getting, an exedy or some other brand name, honda doesnt make there clutches, honda will sell you aftermarket oem spec clutches. for a $100 its a good deal, the package will cost you about $130 from the dealer if you have a connection, if you dont its more expensive. i bought the exedy clutch as shown in the ebay auction. came with everything i needed, just waiting to install it. i believe the throwout bearing from the dealership alone is about $55 or so.
all d15 and d16z6,y7,y8 use the same clutch.

That looks like an OEM replacement Daikin/Exedy kit, and should work fine for your 95 Si. When they say non-VTEC Del Sol, they mean all Del Sols except the Del Sol VTEC, which has a B16. All Del Sol and 92-00 Civic clutches are interchangable, with the exception of the DOHC models. Since it's an OEM replacement kit, expect performance similar to a brand new stock clutch.
have you tried pumping the clutch a few times before engaging it into gear?
also check your clutch fluid levels.
i had the same problems before...I didnt drive the car for a few days and the shifter didnt want and cannot go into gear at all...i had to pump it a few times.
...as for the clutch pedal not giving resistance....my problem was that the slave cylinder for my clutch was leaking fluid...and my fluid level was almost down to empty.
also check your clutch fluid levels.

hmm I'll have that checked out too. If that's the problem, what's involved and how much does it usually cost to have that fixed? thanks

if your fluid levels are low...you just need to refill it with fluid which costs few bucks
if your slave cylinder or master cylinder is going bad...you probably have to change both of them. parts for me cost about $150 for both the master and slave cylinder.
