The ls tranny isnt torquey enough, i would say its really good for highway runs, but i like the gsr tranny for drag better.

I'm sorry I don't make any sense to you. Why don't you read up and let me kow why there isn't a benefit or need not to use that setup. And my original thoughts weren't to build a drag car. Just to get the B18 and get a little more power outa it by adding a super charger.

I'm lookin for suggestions here... not insults. If you know more, as it seems you do, give me some advice. And tell me why I shouldn;t use such a "lame" setup.

I disagree, my stock B16A tranny was comparable to a GSR (pretty close anyway) and after reading up and switching to the LS tranny and an HKS BC I have improved my times by more than four tenths. many of my friends say it's all boost control and not gearing but I think it's a combination of both. But I'm still learning when it comes to the fine points of tuning cars so maybe it is due to the better boost settings and not the LS tranny but either way, spending dough on a Type-R tranny or a Spoon tranny is a waste of money IMO.

:werd: I also dont see how a notec block would benefit from a notec head.

Benefits = When turbo'd

Tuning is not as tough and no blow by.

I'm not insulting you it's just that a stock B20 head and an LS head are pretty much the same as far as I know so I can't understand where you got the idea for this set-up. and IMO the B20 block is way overated. What's wrong with just a plan ol' B18B1 with a supercharger? Are you sure you not talking about a B20 block with a VTEC B series head? I read as much as I can about engine building and I have never heard of the set-up you speak of.

Yes, I'm trying to avoid using a B series vtec head. I have a buddy right now that is building a similiar engine to the one you mentioned. The b18b1, turbo'd and he's havin a bunch of probs with the tuning.

Whats the difference between the B20/ls head?

What benefit do you see to super chargin vs turboing it?

And I figured the size of the engine would benefit me in the long run being that it is a 2 liter. DO you disagree with that?
