Default my rear quarter panel is rusting

its rusting from within... as it is bulging underneath... its also starting to rust right above where the rear bumper ends and meets the body.... any help as to stop this from spreading? there is also a small bulge above one of the outer tail lights....

i hate it when my car starts to look old

did I mention the clear coat is falling off in 5 places?

rust to a car is like cancer to humans.

if it is rusting under the paint, you may want to take it to a body shop and have them replace the panel. rust will not stop...it will just keep spreading if not treated. they have rust convertors that you can apply to the surface, but I dont know how well those things work.

Welcome to the world of Honda. In my area, it's nearly impossible to find an EG Civic without the same thing that you have. Your only option is to cut the rusting metal out and re-weld a piece of sheetmetal back in.

:werd: That happens to pretty much all older Hondas you see (in areas where it snows and they use salt). You should see my Dad's old '89 Accord....pieces of it fall off when you close the door. This is just a sad reality that many 5th gen guys are going to start seeing in the next few years as the cars get older. From what I have heard, as SW20 MR2 said, the only way to totally cure it is to weld on a new piece of metal. I know Fuji did something to his car to create a drainage passage to try to prevent this from happening....maybe talk to him.

brought it to a body shop.. The sand blasted it and repainted the area. It cost me $50(which is extremely cheap) and you cant even tell it was ever done, no matter how close you look.
