Ask simple and basic questions part duex...
Silly noob question,
I seen a good answer in this thead about replacing the shocks when you lower your car. I personally do not mind a stiffer ride, what I am worrying about is the life expectancy of the OEM shocks once lowering springs or coil overs are put on my Civic. I would assume that they would wear out more quicker with it being lowered, but I don't want shocks that are going to last like 15000 miles (that is a year in respect to my distance driving). So should I replace them anyway, or just wait till they wear out?
PART 2
The consistant advice I have been given when lowrering my car & 17" rims is to use Eibach springs (or adj. coil overs) and front/rear strut tower bars to help to keep everything in line. I am not going to race or show, it is just for myself. Does this sound good?
Thanks.

ok, i've been meaning to ask this for a while. does anyone know how i can make my car beep if i leave my lights on and pull out my key. i swear ive had to jump my car like a kazillion times! why won't it beep!
A few "basic" questions. I am new to modifications and I am looking for some assistance:
I have a 98 civic Lx sedan and my exhaust manifold is cracked(hair line). My exhaust is shot and I would like to get a new Header and better exhaust. I have contacted DC sports and they tell me that they do make a header for the 98 civic lx. I was told by tech support that the ex header would make my car run poor. I have seen different people online make reference to having a DC sport header on the 98 lx. I understand the problem is the location of the cat, can I relocate it?
What do I need to do to replace the stock header with an aftermarket header? Do I need to extend the wires on the lower O2 sensor?
Also, if anyone knows what is involved, please make a recommendation on header/exhaust system for the vehicle.
Thanks, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.

Ok.
This is probably very basic...
I'm considering turboing my ESi. It's got the standard D16** engine(I haven't been able to determine the last two letters. Where do I look?) So my questions are:
1) In turboing the D16, would I have to disconect the VTEC? Someone told me they didn't work together...
2) Would I need an aftermarket ECU or a computer? Could I still install an ApexI v-afc, and would it do any good (again with 1#)?
3) How hard is it to get a turbo kit for these engines, what is included in them, and what do they cost?
4) Could I install it myself, or do I need to get a shoop to do it?
Any advice welcomed!
