probably o2 sensor code...that will REALLY mess up your mpg, when i had a code i couldn't ever break 16 mpg.

Things to check:
  • spark plug wires
  • distributor
  • tire pressure (should be in the high 30s)
  • have you used fuel injector cleaner?
  • cold weather will use more gas since cold air is denser (more O2) so more fuel is needed
  • make sure you are easy on the gas (below 3000) until the oil warms up before you start going acclerating like crazy
  • fuel filter clogged?
  • what weight oil are you using?

You want to know what a good psi is? It depends on the tire. Read the side of it, it will tell you how much needs to be in there.

the rule is to run 4-5 pounds under max...but make sure you check the tire pressure when they are cold. If you do it when they are hot and you put in 35 it will probably only be around 30-31 pounds under cold load.

I'm goin at least 300+ on a full tank of gas in my '98 Ex and I don't drive modestly at all. I shift at around 4 most of the time, however, vtec is often engaged throughout the day. Still the same result....300+. Maybe you need a tune up dude.

Who uses tires when they are cold? Anytime you are racing, you want your tires warm. I take my psi a little while after I take a spin.
