prelude engine
h22 and gsr will fit, yes you will have to do mods in order for them to work properly in a sol. Example: h22 you'll have to change suspension etc because the front end will be significantly heavier than stock.
Please remove the thought of an H22 swap from your list of potential mods. From the sound of it so far, you are pretty new to swaps, and modding Hondas in general. Please don't take offense. It isn't meant to be that way.
But that being said... the H22 is going to take a lot of work, and isn't a bolt-in deal. You'll need to do a lot of things and buy specialty parts that you wouldn't have to do or get if you went with a B-series engine. Add on top, your car won't handle the greatest due to the fact that the H22 is heavier. You will HAVE to upgrade the suspension. In the end, it is a lot more hassle than what it is worth IMO.....

so just stick with the b16a3? People have been telling me not to find what i want yet to scope out other rides and thats kinda a good idea cause i dont want what everyone else has i like to be different so when peeps see my ride their like whoa whered he get that, know what i mean??? so what do you know looks good but is rare to find on a sol?
A b16 is any car is still fairly rare. Why do you think people bust a nut over a well done 6th gen Civic Si? Same with a del sol Vtec. Honestly, del sols are not a "swap car." (broad generalization) If you buy a car with the intention of a swap, you're noramlly looking for speed. That's why people go with the hatchbacks so often. They're lighter, and have a tighter chassis. Just the nature of the beast. People who buy sols are after the styling, the handing, the comfort, etc. Sols are normally more expensive than hatches of the same condition and year. If you already have a sol, that's when swapping into a sol become the obvious answer. D engines are fine for some. Hell, I've done a few myself. D engines are perfect for most. But when you really want some good power, and don't want to go FI, then a B engine is the way to go. If you're just going for a drag car, then a H engine is the way to go. Most people that want to drag are willing to sacrifice comfort. The people that still want to keep a daily driver stick with D's and B's.
All I'm trying to get across, is that you need to decide what you want out of the car, and then fit an engine, or any other mod to that. If you want to be able to take your granny to the store once a week, you're not going to slam it 4 inches and get rock hard shocks. You'd kill the woman, even though you might look good doing it... Get mah point?

h2a in sol takes about 1g to put in yourself. mods are:mounts, springs(gsr rears), linkage(96 civic). throttle cable(96 civic?) and way too much labor. just stay w/ the b series engine it will be just fine for power. and also if u do the h22 and not the springs you will have too much oversteer and dragging.
well then could i get like a sohc vtec then drop in a dohc vtec? lol sounds crazy but who knows it could be cheaper then sell the sohc on ebay or sumthing...im trying to find a dohc for cheap so i can immediatly start modding it.. body kit, headers etc..

I would rather get a DOHC and have that engine in the car already, and build from there then to have to deal with a swap. Sure, you will end up paying more for the car initially. But the extra cost is just going to be wrapped up in a payment anyway. Then, the $3000 you would have to spend to do an engine swap could instead be used to build up what is an already good engine. A turbo DOHC VTEC is a million times better than a delSol S or Si with a swap. Even if you don't turbo, that $3000 can go for suspension, i/h/e, stereo upgrades, ect. ect.....
If I could go back and get my sol, I wouldn't have. I would have just spent the extra and got the DOHC to begin with. I recommend you do the same.
