I actually did some web development for him so I got a better price than most would. I'm not going to start quoting prices because I'm not a part of their organization. I just know that they are good at what they do, sell exceptional products and have a reputation for having good prices. I'll see if I can get him to come out here and quote some prices.

The VIS hoods have nice rolled edges, skeleton, and utilize the stock latch. I think I've seen them for as low as $300-350. airon has one, it's naisu.

Where'd you see them for $300-350? I found a new VIS cf hood from some dude for $325 in the bay area. Also I found another hood for $260 and it's a Fiber Images hood with hood pins.. Is VIS that much better than FI? I liked my old VIS hood for my Integra.. fit very well and was strong as hell.

What I'd like to know is why peoples hoods fly up on them when they don't have hood pins. They have the hood latch just like the OEM hood. So why are hood pins recommended on cf hoods?

I've seen the VIS hoods for ~$350 on various boards. It might've been on *gasp* Honda Tech

They're like 1/3 of the weight of stock hoods, so it takes less force to push them up. Sure, they use the stock latch, but it's usually bolted to the fiberglass skeleton, or laid into the fiberglass, and while it's pretty strong, it can fail under the right circumstances. Hell, I've seen stock hoods fly up on completely stock cars, so pins on a cf hood are just another precaution.

to bad, b/c I love cf hoods but I hate the way hood pins look. I guess I'll stick w/ my stock hood.

Get some black hoodlocks. They sit flush, and are hardly noticable. Plus, they lock for added security so fools can't pop your hood by yanking the hoodlatch cable and jack your stuff.
