I can't believe that i'm using my first post to defend a neon. about the reliability issues, i have two friends with neons. Friend #1 has about 90,000 miles on his with no major problems( in fact he has had less problems with his neon than i have had with my civic). Friend #2 was dumb enough to not do his first oil change for more than 17,000 miles. neons can be pretty reliable. as for the HP issues, dodge did under rate it's HP figures. my friend said it had something to do with insurance or something like that( not really sure about that). also from the factory you can get a 25, 50, or 75 HP upgrade that is covered by the warrenty. so we shouldn't look at the 223 whp as the end of the line. it's gonna be a powreful car...but i would never get one simply for the fact that my mission is to destroy my friend(#1)'s SRT-4 after he get's it.

wow this is pretty interesting but i won't make any judgments until it comes out and people start trying to mod it and drive it around for a couple months...

remember, these numbers are stock numbers and nobody who wants to go fast would keep their car stock.. potential and reliability are very important..

so you guyz say dodge uses DSM? well then, i've heard very bad stuff about DSM, so we'll see how reliable this SRT4 is

by the way, wouldn't it's pricing and power figures make it very comparable to the subaru WRX? i'd take the WRX anyday over a dodge.. all wheel drive!

Diamond Star Motors no longer exists. There are equipment trades under other names.

The 2.4L in the Neon and PT cruiser was originally used in the 2G nonturbo DSM spyders.

Yeah, you're going to have to realize that it's cheap because all you're paying for is the drivetrain.

They cut costs on every other aspect of the car.
Plus, who knows how reliable it'll be.

No thanks.

PS: I'd like to see you pay $20k for one, I bet they'll sell for $25k.
25k for a Neon.

No thanks.
