I haven't used one, but I don't see a company giving a money back guarantee if it doesn't at least help a little.

I don't know about other cars. I had a Nissan Pulsar at the time, and I always checked gas mileage. I saw no improvement with it. I actually had to modify the thing for it to fit into the breather. Maybe on larger engines it works better, but I'll never buy another one. You'd be better off with the "Electric Supercharger"
scam off ebay.

i dont think i'd spend 70 bucks on one, but i know quite a few v8 musclecar guy (old smart guys, 45+ years old) & they've got it in all their cars. they swear by that thing. however, these are ford & chevy v8's, which arent exactly "efficient"

This is very true. I have a friend with a Subaru who says that i/e mods will give gains more than 10 HP, and this is consistently true with Subarus. Same with a lot of American cars...the gains from simple mods like that are significantly larger than Hondas and that's because Honda has pretty much designed their engines to be about as optimum as possible.

Like the ad promised, he did feel a noticable increase in power (He installed it in a ford expedition v8). However, unlike the ad claimed, he actually LOST mpg. So thats why he sent it back. Now to the amature physicists, please desist in putting out false information m'kay? Yes, it WILL have an effect on airflow, regardless of its restrictvness. Organization of air molecules (adding a pattern to the stream to increase airflow) has been tryed before, and if my memory serves is often used in more specialized "one off" applications (race cars, and the like). however, its just not cost effective for auto manufacturers to put these in every car (gains in horsepower, or mpg are no where near what the manufacturers would have to pay to install them in thousands of vehicles). I hope this helps you DarkInfluence.

i'm sorry and what makes you the expert? even if you have a degree in physics that doesn't make you an expert. now I have a friend who works for JPL(and he has for the past 15years) and he had told me that from physics point of view it may increase the power a very slightly (not enough to feel). this is all in a perfect environment. The reason is because if this thing is able to produce a swirl affect then it can accelerate the air speed.

similar to what nascar velocity stacks do, but in a passenger car it's not going to do jack.

and how does your dad know it increased power? did you dyno it before and after? if he didn't then you're speculating just as we all are.

first of all, no, i dont have a degree in physics (does ap physics count....ah well, doesnt matter anyway...). My dad does though. My dad has been an automechanic for roughley twenty years, and owned and operated an auto garage for 4 of those years. so i kinda feel comfortable listening to what he tells me. anyway, one doesnt have to be an expert to understand a few basic concepts of fluid dynamics and things like bernoullis principle. as for dynoing it, no, he didnt (cept for the butt dyno of course). However, he did a simple blind test. He drove it. He thought it felt more powerful. He then asked someone else who drives it regularly (read: his wife) to drive it. He noted her reaction (without any further information on his part). She stated to him that she felt a difference before he asked her any questions, or before she even knew he'd installed anything. Sure, its not highly scientific, but its the same way blind taste tests are done. As for the mileage, he did approach that with a more scientific method, by logging his miles before, during and after. but thats a differnt story. The only reason I said not to say anything if you didn't know, was because people were basically ridiculing the guy for asking a question, and not providing any information to the contrary.
that is all.

with this part I agree.

btw simple blind test in the real scientific community is much more complex then that.

my friend in Caltech (Ph.D candidate) says in order for the results to be accepted you have to have at least 10 data points in any experiment.

Yeah probably not worth 70bucks for any car.

your right, just look at how we have continually lost efficiency since the advant of the gasoline engine, all the while gaining horepower.

oh wait, no we didnt. not only are cars 50x more powerful than the first gasoline engines they are also 100x more efficient in many cases.

sounds to me, sir, like you were napping during physics.
