Thoughts about Tornado Device?
hey dark influence, i feel u. i have heard of it too but not much in clinical trial as we say. don't have an answer for u but all u bash it - maybe it would be worth your while to support your arguement. no point just throwing opinions as they don't matter. but i am interested in how it works as well. so don't feel like a moron.. remember, no such thing as a stupid question... late....
If you took a hose, and put something in the middle of it that clogged it up, would there be as much water coming out of the end of it as compared to if you just left it alone? Even if this thing made a "vortex" in the water, it would still dramaticaly cut down on the flow.....same principles of physics apply to air.
This is the one thing I don't understand about the tornado. Let's say, yeah, it does make this "vortex" but how is it suppose to maintain it if goes through the intake pipe with all the bends and what not if it's installed at the base of the filter element? Would the air still be spinning once it reaches beyond the throttle body?
All of their demonstrations about how it spins the air is always on a straight pipe. It doesn't show it with bends and turns like a normal intake pipe. Now I can kinda understand if it was the older air cleaners where it's just directly above the engine, but what about the newer, fuel injected vehicles.
I just don't think I can justify spending $70+ on a piece of chromed aluminum (or whatever it's made out of)...

technically it can keep this so called "vortex" regardless of turns.
i dunno how to prove that to you, but i would say the less turns the better...but it will stay ok
the problem with tornado...its taking power away from something that really doesnt have a lot of excess.
the engine wastes a lot
the exhaust wastes a lot
the alternator and electric system really is very effcient, especially in a honda.

heres another reason for you seriously. if it were "good" for the car, don't you think they would have incorporated it into the car already? especially something that would give more fuel economoy and such? now don't start something like, "they would also have short ram's and etc as oem" cause its different. / makes the car louder etc

I don't think anyone on this board has personal experience.
