Default engine opinions

i was hoping to get some opinions on some of my engine choices. take into consideration price and overall power at wheels.

b18c5 5-6 grand
b16a2 turbo 5-7 grand depending on kit
h22a turbo 5-6 depending on kit

i have read through info about all and the h22a turbo seems to be the best choice, but they are rather heavy, but i have heard they handle turbo better than B series engines.now id like personal opinions from people with actual experiences.thanx.

This is going into a 97 civic hatch. opinions please?

what are your goals for the car?

for myself a turbo b16 would be enough.

but some may need the extra power and torque of the h22....:dunno:

H22A is going to be the fastest, and the C5 will be the most reliable, and efficent. C5 for me please!

I'm going turbo on my C1 swap next year. I'll give you my opinion then... you should post this out in the Hybrid section.... you'll probably get more 'real world' replies.

its not that the h22 or b16 wont be efficient. its just that when you slap a turbo on an engine, the life of the engine will decrease.

if you wanna be fast as fuk, go with the boosted h22.

ok, thats what i thought you he was getting at, i was just checking. thanx. i think as long as i can get another car and not drive my civic to ofter except to have alittle fun. then ill go with the h22 turbo. if not than i may either do gsr or itr w/ turbo.

More opinions greatly appreciated. thanx

LSVtec and CRVtec is more than just an engine swap though. atleast for the LSvtec, you would have to buy an LS engine and than find either gsr, si head/block(dont remember which) to put on it. from what i have heard from someone with LSVtec, that would be almost equivalent to a ITR, but alittle less of both Hp and Tq. correct me if im wrong?

If i were to be h22 turbo, i would be a whole lot faster than either one. if i were to turbo an LSVtec, im not sure were id be, but im guessing still slower than the h22 turbo, not sure though.
