Hate Sears (read about stupidity!)
So, i ran out of space in my old tool box. Needed something much larger & didn't wanna pay the big name prices. I look around i find the box that i want in the sears catalog. They don't have it in their store, nor will they ship it to the store for instore pickup to save me some shipping cost. So i wait it out, hoping to either catch the box on sale or find a free shipping sale on sears.com. A few weeks ago the box goes on sale. I make purchase it takes 2.5 weeks to show up.
Now the Interesting part!
I come home from work to find this large package in the middle of my drive way! Not on a porch or anything like that, odd but ok! I go to move it to my garage, yea, to heavy. So reading the box, it says that the casters & keys are inside the bottom drawer, so i figure alright, i'll just unpackage it here & mount the casters so that i can roll it to the garage! Well i get it all opened up, wrestle off the box, & find that all the drawers are locked and there is no key to be found on the exterior!
I spend 2.5 hrs on the phone last night with the idiots & another 2 hrs. on the phone with a supervisor today.
At this point i'm still awaiting a phone call back with a resolution. but durring the conversions with these idiots. I've talked to 2 middle eastern people that i can't understand, one chineese girl that kept asking me if i was having charging problems & if i could find a red light ( i fliped out on that one trying tell her it's a damn tool box, theres no lights on this thing!). & one person that told me that I could drill out the lock & go purchase a new lock for $20 at my local sears hardware store! (WTF, i ain't drillin shit! You send me a tool box with a damn key!).
I'm extreamly frustrated over this, i've tried extreamly hard to keep my temper under control with the folks on the phone coz i understand that it's not their fault. But when they tell me to look at the back of the lock for the 6 digit number that will identify what key that they need to send me.. I just don't know how to handle that, the freakin box it locked shut, how do they expect me to look at the back of the lock that is inside the box!!!!!!
And yes, if they had the one that i wanted in the store or avaliable for in store pick-up, i would have just brought it back.
I've got almost 900 bux invested in this.. thats partly the reason i'm so pissed!
ERRRRRRRRR
Clifs: Asses at sears sent me fucked up shit & dunno what to do about it!

well shit, that sucks, what a pain in the ass
you could try to pick the lock, i imagine it wouldnt be too hard, and a locksmith should be able to pop it open pretty easily, but thats not something that you should need to do or pay to do
i would go down to sears in person, they will probably tell you to call customer service, but dont take that shit, they can call someone who can fix the problem directly, just force them to do it
other option is call your credit card company (if you ordered it with one) and cancel the payment
that should get their attention and get you your key pretty fast
regardless, good luck

Yeah I work at Customer Service at a mall with a Sears and I blow a fuse everyday with them. I have to deal with stupid workers there all the time. To me it's amazing that simple stuff I take for granted they cannot even do OR since they are too lazy they send them off to us.
Good luck hope everything works out. I would be pissed too if I spent $900 on something that I get the run around.

Ask to talk to the supe, if that doesn't work, ask to talk to their boss...and so on...finally, tell them you're going to file a complaint with the office in Chicago....they hate that! My wife worked for Sears, gotta complain and not take no for an answer...The higher ups in Chicago get really pissed when they get complaints...good luck!
