I want to get a short ram air filter...
well u get a cold air intake out of a short ram due to the inner piping on the intake and the foam filter they use plus on the website for them they have pictures of the testing with a normal short ram intake and the secret intake well they did when i bought it at least and it showed much better performance than the normal one.
besides the fact that youll end up paying almost 200 for it, i thought it was worth it... and IMO sounded the best too

I don't know enough about their intakes to say anything, so I'll let somebody else comment.
In my opinion, the stock airbox with a K&N filter and the resonator removed is the best option. Well, the best option is ITB's (or even better, carbs), but the stock box comes after that.

$200 for a <5hp gain? If you want an intake, which you should realize will be nothing more than for the sake of the sound, you might as well get a $10 ebay one and put on a quality air filter on it. Wheather you get a $200 weapon r or a $10 generic you will not feel any more power while driving anyway.

actually i have the drop in K&N already.(did)
i got that ebay short ram...
with just the lightened flywheel addition and the K&N i was getting a little more than 30MPG now with the short ram, down to 27 which is where i started before the flywheel.
the differences in driving that i notice are mainly, the ram filter makes the engine sound much louder, as far as noticible HP gains...? maybe when i m going down the highway, not at all when im starting from 0.
i busted my timing belt though, and im bout to reinstall a new one with a water pump and some seals.
i'll probly throw the old air filter box back on, and maybe later remove the resonator... ive been thinking about adding a K&N cone filter to my short ram intake to see if it fairs better that way(replacing the cheap one that came with it), but that isnt a priority at the moment.

Yeah seriously, if your gonna get a short air ram or a cold air, just get a Ebay $10 one. My friends and I Tried a $180 name brand intake VS something I made myself with $2 worth of tubes and connectors and there was no difference at all.
i put back on the old OEM air box on w my K&N drop in filter today...
milage went from 30mpg to 32mpg. for milage the ebay filter isnt worth it. hp??? its quieter with out the ebay filter, the power? i cant feel much difference honestly...

actually after driving a week or so w/o, i think w the short ram the responce is better, but the FE is slightly worse as mentioned. If thats due to the dif. in driving style, most likely..?
