your asking for decent mileage, decent power, and under 2500?
your going to have a hard time finding it. as its your first car just buy a beater your not going to worry about scratching up. odds are you will have it a max of 2 years before something happens to it. buy the cheapest piece you can to get you started. then start saving for a nicer car.
like snoops said id look for a 92-95 civic. insurance will be inexpensive and if you must have mods well the support is huge.

just get something cheap and learn how to drive, dont worry about having a "fast" car because to be honest, you will do nothing but hurt your self, some one else, or destroy the car. With something like a civic you can rice it out to hearts desire and enjoy cheap insurance and easy to come by replacement parts. Hell worst case scenario, another motor is only 500 bucks away.

Also, doesn't seem like you have a huge ammount of money to spend and I don't know if you or your parents are gonna pay for your insurance, but (young/new drivers + fast "sports" cars != money in your pockets). Civics are good to keep the insurance down.
yeah my parents are divorced,so my dad is paying insurance while my mom buys the car,and im not into the whole Rice Out like crazy scene,i want some power under the wheels...but nothing like Turbo or Nos,at the most,i want maybe 150 hp,idk its just a figure, but yeah i mean i will rice it out a tad, body kit, rims, nice interior, blah blah the whole 4 1/2 yards, but i mean i want a nice car thats presentably fast,or atleast would whoop some cars around here(nothing too serious around these parts) but i understand what ya are talking about
not to be a dick or anything, but 150 hp isnt gonna "whoop ass".....there will always be fast cars, since you are still in high school, you will have jackasses that will mess with your car in the lot, so i wouldnt get a nice one yet...
i got a 91 hatch for 500 bux with 250k on chassis and 90 on the motor and i drive the car every day. my bro picked up a very clean 93 hatch for 3k. check our vehicle for sale section, hunt ebay and other forums. i see 92-95 civics on honda-tech go for 1500 and up, u just have to knowq where to look
yea,but it will whoop most of the cars around here, dude i live in south alabama, there are very few cars around here, mostly jacked up trucks, but im pretty sure a light car and 150 hp could beat most of the cars around here, mostly a sentra and a mustang, that the drivers couldnt drive to save their life....and also,no one messes wiht ppls vehicle in the lot,the most ive seen done is rolled or something simple,we have like cameras, plus i park beside a bunch of my fellow rednecks,so they dont let stuff happen if it were too
yea you're not going to be beating many cars with only 150hp. if you ever find a civic for that cheap it will have a sohc vtec or nonvtec depending on trim. those arent the most potent of engines in stock form. with bolt on's expect more noise than power.
how about this.... save your money. do it. save it for..... 6 more months. and after that get yourself a better car with a better engine and lower miles. its so much eisier than getting a weak car and making it AS fast as another car. id say save up a little bit more and get a nicer car... maybe a... 2000 civic si or integra gsr or mitsubishi eclipse OR, you can save some mre and get even a better car such as an rsx-s or something up there. but thats my opinion. i regret not saving up and not getting an s2000 lol
