If you must know what muh ride is, its 92 hatch Si. I want to know whats the best engine to get for it and price range. I dont know if slapping on a v-tec civic one or a acura swap? Does boost already come with a v-tec and whats the price of one with a boost price range. I have a sohc engine btw.

check out the swaps forum here... theres alot of info there

and your not going to get any boost from a stock honda motor. v-tec has nothing to do with boost or turbo's or superchargers...

read up on what v-tec is or search the forums here and learn about it...

as for best swap theres tons of options. price wise? b18's arent all that expensive....k-series are pricey but a better swap...plenty of options so start reading

My '92 EX has the same motor snider and yes, surprisingly, it does have VTEC.

It's sorta like the Porsche Boxter of VTEC motors... unless you count VTEC-E... which I don't.

Correct

You have a D16 in your Civic hatch,, and long behold, it's no ordinary D16, it's the vtec one... :yay:

I've seen some sick numbers with SOHC Turbo setups.... if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a swap... Read up on the capabilities of a SOHC turbo setup ( And apparently what VTEC is  )

LS7 swap.

Sorry, to be helpful, the best/coolest swap ATM would be a K20/K24 frankenstein. Also freakin' expensive.

Thanx for the rude awakening, but i just found that out .

Its just that the majority of the guy on here usually have b16s, and kinda its rare to find someone with a d16. I found out that a sohc will get you faster torque than a dohc, because of the lightweight and lacks power. On the other hand dohc has more power lack good torque and is heavy.

And in other word your saying that a sohc can be just as fast/ever faster than a dohc

Around how much would that engine cost? As to also a b16 or 18

boosted or na, same mods done to both, a dohc will hand a sohc it's ass in the hands of a capable driver.

k series swaps are $5k+
