Default motor swap

Ok I have heard alot about the battle between gsr and ls/vtec. What are the major differences between them. i know the gsr has a stronger main girdle and the ls is missing the oils squirters. The oil squirters dont matter because the forged internals will be in the motor and the squirters are taken out so no big. The next question is with the conversion kit will that head gasket handle at least 30 lbs of boost? Do they have a stronger girdle for the ls/vtec swap.
thanks

erl makes a 5 main girdle that's stronger than the gsr's stock 3 main. i feel though that if you balance the crank and use new bearings in an lsvtec setup you dont need the girdle. the headgasket in the golden eagle kit is a modified oem gasket. oem gaskets can take a lot of abuse as is. i wouldnt be so focused on 30psi, rather how much power you want to make regardless of how many psi it takes you to get there. hp is what breaks stuff not psi.

oh and where is erl's web site or is it a member? Oh and what b18 non vtec would be best to get. Or I will still keep my eye out for a cheap gsr but the only advantage for me was that it had the strong main girdel but since i can get a stronger one then you know.
let me know.
thanks

Any B18 will work the A or B... However I would advise getting a newer one because the lower miles can help to avoid abuse and therefore lead to a longer life...

Ok thanks. I was wondering could you make the same power out of an ls/vtec as you can a gsr. I know it should be able to handle the same or more if it is built right but i was just wondering. Oh and where is the best place to send it to have the motor machined and re sleeved.
thanks

a gsr will make more peak power but an lsvtec will have a broader powerband and a little more torque assuming same mods to both. this is because of the ls' slightly bigger 89mm stroke.

600hp is a lofty number. i hope you know what it takes to get that much.
