Default Common Ignition problems?

So I've narrowed it down to ignition, as to what, I don't know. Doesn't seem to be wiring but i'm not ruling that out...My car's RPM's will dip before they increase and the car has a bad problem of flooding, it's not a fuel problem, i've replaced all the fuel system. If it was a coil it wouldn't crank at all correct? could a coroded cap and rotor be the cause? I've never seen a cap and rotor cause something as serious as this...the car will cut out at idle and at high RPMs (If I can even start it) It will sit there and idle and the rpm's will go crazy and if I try to give it gas then the rpms drop to 0 before the rev up. I'm stumped

What mods are done to it? Have you pulled off the distributor cap and inspected? How do the spark plugs look?

Are you sure? Did you test it with a Voltmeter?

Reason I ask is because I had a smiliar problem with an elusive engine ground...

I thought it was coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ICM, distributor...

Turns out it was a loose ground... And considering your car was flooded, a ground could be corroded and not making complete contact, giving you the problem you describe...

Well I did test with a mutlimeter and I was getting no voltage from it, so I shook the ICM and tried moving it around to see if it had a short in it and tested it again and it was fine...Although I guess it wouldn't hurt to make new ground wires or clean them up...
