Default Tranny Conversion

Hey people, I am from Virginia. I have a 4 door civic. The only problem it has is that it is automatic. I was wondering if any one knows where i can get a good transmission swap to 5 speed for a reasonable price. CDE and In-Line Pro charges about 3 grand, I'm looking for something a little bit cheaper. I would even consider people who do side jobs as long as they are legit. Let me know. Thanks

dang THREE GRAND for a tranny conversion? I can get you a freaking GSR swap with tranny/ecu/shift linkage/wiring harness for 3100. You should be able to find a good 5th/6th gen EX tranny for under 300 bucks. I've blown and i'm on my 3rd, each time i paid around 150 for another.

Used...i sell motors that we get from salvaged auction cars basically. They are all in good shape and pretty low miles (under 45K miles) I also have the 99-00 B16 from the Civic SI with motor, tranny, ecu, shift linkage, wiring harness, side/rear tranny mounts for 2300+shipping.

I've done the swap. It's easy. Just find all the parts and take your time. Not something for a beginner, or if it's your daily driver. You will run into snags if you can't talk to people and get all the info. <hint, there's no good info online about it> Hit me up if you need some help.

yeah i know a lot about cars but installing stuff is pretty new to me. i asked around and every says that its a pain in the butt. like you have to weld and all this junk. i'm not sure if i'm capable of doing it and also if i mess up, its not gonna be pretty. I wouldn't know where to start in the first place.

I'm not sure what you would have to weld. As long as you got a D series manual tranny everything should BOLT right in. I did my own tranny swap when i blew up my stock tranny for another EX tranny and it took a few days. I didn't have a helms but once you start working on it and have the axles pulled out it's pretty self explanatory. The hardest part is just lining the new tranny up to the motor.

I think the welding only applies to the 92-95 models since the tranny mount is a little different from a manual and automatic. I know for 96-00, there is no welding. Correct me if I'm wrong.
