ok to sum it up... if you are 16-17 and think you're the kool kid on the block cuz you have a little 4-banger honda with a shopping cart wing and a muffler the size of a sewer pipe, going around town trying to race minivans and ford tauruses, you're going to get pulled over. just a message to those people... your car isnt a race car. it will never be a race car. even after dumping 10k into it... your car isnt a race car. try staying stock... looks , sounds, and drives much better. peace

another tip if you do get pulled over (worked for me):
- roll down all windows, shut down engine, keys go to dashboard
- keep hands on steering wheel until cop is at your window
- keep license/insurance together to speed up process (I keep them both in the same place in my wallet for quick access), and let the cop know what you're going for when you reach for your wallet or whatever
- don't give attitude, "yes, sir" "no, sir" "thank you, sir"
- don't ask questions unless he's really being a dick (have had a few of them)
- don't admit to speeding, just say you're going with the flow of traffic (hopefully, you were)
- don't give attitude
but if a young kid did all that it might even come across as suspicous like he has something to hide.. I gueess you should also act normal and not be nervous

So what you're saying is that a "4-banger" honda will never be a race car, right? Please diaf!

well yeah dont be nervous, its a cop, just another human being who can make you loose a lot of your precious hard earned money, when i got pulled over i was acting cool as a motherfucka, not nervous, and yes the "Yes Sir,No Sir" does not help all the time, if the cop is a bitch hes a bitch, im young and the "Street Racing" is kind of geeting boring to me, i like to go to the track a lot more now.no need to risk my life and for what, a few seconds of excitement, and yes this coming from an 18year old, think about it, i spent more than $10,000 on my car in the past 3 months, why would i wanna risk loosing all of that...

Believe that if you want to. It'd probably be better not to look like a pro at getting pulled over.

I say just treat the situation as unfortunate and hope for the best. If the end result is that you get a ticket you can feel free to ask the cop as many or few questions as you want to about the road, the current conditions or the days events and he may or may not give you the answers you want. He is, under the regulations of most organizations, required to promote your overall safety while you're still stopped and should ask you if you have any questions before he releases you. That's when you exercise your right to know these things.

By the way, I'm not a cop but I am a Military Policeman so I might know a little bit about these things.

don't look at it that way. look at it this way:

the most dangerous situation a traffic cop can encounter starts with a minor offense. If you do the things I said (and if its night time, interior lights go on), it makes the cop feel safer, and shows that you respect him (those two things go far). maybe you won't get out of the ticket, but thats your problem for speeding in the first place. the real simple solution is to take your time, which is why I'm still the 18secFerio h:

besides, they know how often you get pulled over, anyways. so I'm proud to be a pro defensive driving rocks

Couldn't have said it better myself. Besides, with how gorgeous the new Civic coupes are, why junk it up with all that tacky crap anyway.
