Default V-tec question

i have the d16y5 v-tec motor and the wiring harness and ecu all put in my 92 civic. the v-tec doesnt seem to be working, could this be due to the wiring from the ecu to the wiring harness beening the original wiring from the civic, and not from the v-tec civic i got the ecu and wiring harness out of?
thanks

Default vtec conversion

if you car didn't have vtec before, you're goign to need to convert it to work.... find your vtec solenoid, a circular thing behind the distributor usually, with one wire coming off of it. Route this wire to your ecu and connect it to the vtec pin... you're going to need to find the pinout for your ecu, cuz im not sure which one you are using...

Or you can buy the conversion kit at www.rywire.com

look for the label on your ecu, if it isn't there, then you have to unscrew the cover and look at the label on the connector for an ecu model...

check out http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/index.html
they have some at the bottom

im sorry, there is usually only one wire to route, but you should check on three...

the vtec solenoid wire that i was talking about needs to go to pin a4 on your ecu the wire coming off of the ecu connector is yellow and green...

the vtec ground wire is black and it just needs to be bolted to the chassis or spliced into a ground...

look on the passenger side wiring harness for the vtec oil pressure sensor wire, its blue and you need to run it to pin d6 on your ecu connector...

look at this picture of the ecu connector http://www.jspecautosports.com/page.aspx?page_id=17
