$5K for a C5? Seems really high, like crate motor high. C5 stock is one of the best OEM 4 Cyl motors I've seen, and with no mods will give him a significant jump in power with no special tuning; even the C1 will. Not saying boost isn't a good thing, but a swap can be very effective and totally smog legal too (which can be an important detail here in Ca., dunno about Jersey)

In my R (modded, but all motor), I raced both nitrous and turbo Civics, nitrous Eclipses, and had no problem beating them. JRSC GSR was a little quicker though. Never raced a properly built turbo Civic though

i say swap in a b18b cost is about 1500.00 (installed at your local junkyard)
add another 600.00 for 55 shot nitrous
save the rest for tuning and suspension

eww you're one of those Hype R people arent you...and 5k is about right for a b18c5 with trans. So overpriced it hurts.

As for all these D series sac riders....boosted B > boosted D its fact. hfawk:

I would go b18b swap, suspension. Then save up to boost the B

D series - good budget build
B series - more expensive but OMFG HP!

I like the D for a street car on a budget. Too much horse and it wouldn't be a good daily driver.
