Default Cheapest turbo setup possible

Hey guys,

My cousin just installed a t3t4 in his del sol and he spent about 2700. I was wonderin what the cheapest setup possible i can get. Willing to do DIY shit.
On d16y8 engine(civic).
I was thinking a dsm t25 @10lb boost. Will I need an intercooler or could i simply use a charge pipe. I know i need a maniflod and downpipe which are pretty expensive. The thing i'm am unsure about is my ecu. Will i need to get uberdata or can I just get my stick chip tweaked. Or is there a cheaper and reliable way for fuel management. I was thinking maybe 330 or 440 injectors. I will also need OBD1 to OBD2 conversion harness and OBD1 injector clips, correct. Will my map sensor be ok to or will i need and upgraded map sensor or a missing link. I looked at homemadeturbo.com but didn't find what i was lookin for.

There is a difference between cheap and ghetto. If you can't piece a decent, all-inclusive kit together for less than $1500, you aren't finding the right deals.

no don't mess w/fmu no good get the obd1 computer but what i did w/my car was i got a diagram and spliced all the wires for the obd1 into the obd2 setup two diagrams match the wires together solder then u don't have to buy the connecter kit and can pull one ecu out and put another in for emmissions or whatever if u really want a cheap manifold get on from a crx si and make an adapter plate u have to visit homemadeturbo.com just remember u get what u pay for trust me i learned it the hard way w/junkyard turbos and an engine rebuild

I built my kit for 840$. Everything was brand name and brand new except the turbo manifold, turbo, and DSM injectors. I changed a few things up and the grand total was 1049$. That's everything down to bolts and washers.

my friend just pieced together a shitty turbo kit on his civic recently for like $200, the only thing he paid for was the fmic and the fuel management unit. everything else he pretty much took off his eclipse :lmao: its fast but i give it a month before he blows a hole in his block like he did to his eclipse...

we turbo'd a friends hatch for 180 last month.

He found a killer deal on an rhb5, 45 shipped off ebay.

He got his OEM vx manifold. we made adapter plate

Ran charge piping straight to the intake manifold

Switched his factory 190cc injectors for some b16 240cc injectors (even at 15psi he wasn't pushing the injectors too bad)

everything else we built. Oil line wise we just bought the stealmode feed line for $25, and then built our own return line

I chipped his ecu for him, and then we tuned with my wideband on crome. Its still running today and going strong. many kills on his list including a couple v8 stangs and some dsms, and a 2.4l swapped neon, h22 hatch, etc.

Pretty quick little car

by using just a charge pipe, dont you stand the chance of particles going in the intake? where as a intercooler could protect lets say turbo detination?

I want to learn how to chip a chip for things like air/fuel taio but the stuff I read online is confusing as all hell.

I mean chip an ECU for those of you that don't understand
