Default 2001 Tranny Problem

I wanted to know if any one else out there was having transmission problems with their Civic EX 2001. It's slips from 4th to 2nd gear usually when I am descending on hills. The dealer told me this was normal for my car, but in the write up he gave me about my transmission it states that I should have smooth descent down a hill. My car is far from smooth. It feels like I have either hit the brakes too hard or that I got rear ended. I know there was a huge write up in the LA Times about the 200 and 260-hp Honda and Accords slipping gears, but while they are driving. If any one has any information to help me I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello, and welcome to the board! :wavey: I've heard about a few probs with the 01 ex transmissions, nothing specific comes to mind though. You might want to check out the forums over at http://www.2k1civic.com . Be forewarned though, there's alot of immature kids who have 0 knowledge about automobiles in general.

Also, you have any mods? Any pics of your car? Nice to see some 7th gen people emerging!

Does that have anything to due with the grade logic technology that Honda has been putting in its transmissions in the past few years? Just an idea.
