Default Which order...?

I have a 2000 Civic LX, its got a auto tranny, but Im planning on swapping out for a 5 spd. I also want to get a catback exhaust system, and I plan on boosting later on down the road (prolly by the end of next summer). In what order should I get these jobs done? Or does it not matter any? I was told Id have to get an exhausts system before boost, because stock exhaust pipes are small, and the turbo wouldnt give me as much power that it should. Then I was told by another person that the larger exhaust pipes on w/out boosting would loose alot of power, because the exhaust would just kinda roll out. So now Im confused. Any help? Thanx

Just get the Turbo 1st. That way you when you get your exhaust you'll see the performance difference the exhaust makes.

Swap the trans to a manual first. Then, after spending all that time and money, you'll realize what a waste it is to modify an automatic Civic.

agreed. i say do it in the order you had it in... auto to manual first. then exhaust (you'll be able to feel the slight difference). then boost it, and you'll REALLY feel the difference. lol

save time and just put a b18c swap in it off the bat a gsr motor is around 2500 and has 170-178hp depending on which you get and a typer is around 3500 and has 200-210hp depending on which you get. Youll get a manual and the same if not better power than youll get out of running a turbo on a stock lx motor and it's all natural so it's truly long lasting reliable power. youll probably be into about the same money after you buy the turbo then a manual trans and soforth

extreamly over priced... if he was going to go b18 swap, i'd rather see him go with an ls motor that could be boosted afterwords.. ls swap with tranny for like 800-1000

either way, theres a lot more to going from auto to manual than just the tranny!

I didnt ask if it was a waste of my time and money to modify an automatic Civic. I asked which order to get and install the mods.

Everyone else, thanx for the info/advice!

but whats the point in going to all the trouble of doing a swap and just put a ls motor in it especially when they dont have much more power than what hes got now, my friend had a ls with i-h-e and it only had 118 to the wheel sucky. when that same set up in a gsr motor would put 155-160 down on the ground. 40 more horses w/o turbo. and cheaper and more reliable all to gether than a ls with turbo
