you say you were worried about getting to work, and now you are planning a motor swap? sir, no offense, but you are certifiably insane.

a motor swap into this car will be a pain in the butt, i'm sure the down time to you will be more than it's worth, i can not tell you how much i am against you doing this FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. this is the last time i'm posting in this thread because honestly i can't keep walking into a brick wall. it's your car, your money, just try and use your better judgement on things.

a note on the SRT-4. it's a fast, agile car for the money. but it has many, many fit and finish issues. also i've known people who have had neumorus mechanical problems with them. that being said it is still the best overall value if you are looking for hardcore performance, regardless of it's many flaws.

EDIT:
I made a mistake on the weight. the numbers will be comparable to the DC5 ITR if the swap is done correctly and he can get the power to the ground (hopefully these kickass rims he bought don't weigh a ton)

I wasnt thinking correctly and assumed that the SI weighed less than the rest of the bunch as it has in the past. my mistake.

LOL I totally agree.

The first time I read the thread I thought just another dreamer....

but still I think we should help him out with his questions, and not flame him for his decsions, even though there is a 99% chance he isn't going to be swapping K series once he sees what has to be done. I figure we answer what he asks, and not tell him what to do. It is his choice. He didn't ask if the swap was feasible or a smart investment, he asked what parts he should look into getting along with the engine

At least for the last 2 generations, the Si has always weighed near the top of the Civic line up.

key words, i *was* worry about getting to work at the time, my cousin/roommate just bought a new car, he is selling his other car now, i'll have his car until he sells it, and wont be selling it until he gets a few new parts...so i will not have trouble with getting to work. and i know the car will be awhile in the shop. but once again, this is not what the thread is about....get back on topic

damn...i have never seen such a newb bring such controversary to a dumb ass thread. DUDE, BUY THE SWAP THEN ASK QUESTIONS. You have all the answers you were looking for (in my opinion, they weren't answers, just opinions you were looking for).

SO get on with life, buy it and do it, or do away with this forum.

i made a major error there and i'm sorry.

only the si uses the k series, i'm pretty sure everything else uses a d-series, so no.
