going from lude to civic and need help/opinion
So I've owned two ludes now both if which I loved to death but ofcourse realized maybe don't hold the potential for speed I am looking for and are seemingly hard to find these days. Anyways I am considering a civic (staying true to my Honda roots) and I am kinda lost as to where to go. I would like to have say a 92-01 hatch or 96-00 coupe with a standard of course engine doesnt matter as i am sure it will be high milage and need a swap. Where should I set my sights? I am thinking the early-mid 90's hatch with say h22 swap but I do not know the true potential of the b series which i hear and read so much about so I figured I would ask the true experts on this. I know most of this is a matter of opinion but with hopes of a 12-13 second fun car I am sure you can get the jist. So what do you guys suggest. Is the early to mid 90s hatch with h22 swap and eventual turbo a good bet or am I missing something here?
And yes ofcourse i will keep my lude too.. have to i love it
.
Just fyi i am very knowledgable when it comes to my h series but from what I have read it may not be the best option and when it comes to b series and civics i am lost so experts help me out here .. im trying.

so better for boost and easier to swap.... cant argue with that. oh and integras are always an option too. does any civic generation have more potential than the others or is it mainly all dependent on the setup? I am sure they has to be subtle weight differences and ease of tuning out there but in general.
I think H22 would be great if it was built properly for boost. Bigger displacement, and more torque than B series. It is slightly heavier than a B series, but not much (like 50lbs I think).
The B series will bolt right into a civic.
H series are cheaper, but you will have to use something like the hasport motor mounts which are expensive.

A K20 is a nice fantasy, but some of us don't think paying $5-6k for a 4 cylinder motor + the price of mounts is a smart decision.

as I have stated many many times, if I were to do another honda project it would be an EK hatch with a boosted 94 H22A and it would desimate. I love the H swap.

and how do you get this info? if you get a 94-95 H22A they have a semi closed deck and love boost...and before you go stouting off which is easier, have you ever done an H swap?

How wouldn't it be harder? You have to buy custom mounts and do some cutting and drilling to get it to fit, so how is that comparable to just dropping in a B-series using OEM mounts? No, I haven't done an H-series swap. Have you? If so, can you enlighten me since you are so quick to discredit a known fact.
I don't know which B-series you are comparing it to, but the B16 engine drivetrain weighs 85 lbs less than the H-series. I never said it was a big deal in difference, did I?
