but is it really worth it to boost on stock internals or is it just a "cool-thing-to-do-because you-cant-afford-a-decent-swap" thing? i thought about doing that myself, but then i reconsidered, figured i'd save up for about six months and do my hb justice by swapping a b16 into it....the right way. i dont mind waiting for the bigger prize.

Sry but a h22 is the last motor I would swap...ends up being every bit as expensive as any other swap usually more... granted its cheaper and is putting out more hp but still with the money you save you could easily build the b18 and boost it and be running alot more power...and imo its "very heavy"

As long as you have the compression and you leak-down good. Why not boost on stock internals. Shmoo on here has a turbo GSR on stock internals...his mileage in into the 100+ range replaced his rings and he is good to go. Forget what PSI he is running but i believe he said he will be at about 10psi after getting it tuned.

I know also of 2 other turbo ls motors, one with 140k and one with 180k both on stock internals, the 180k was rebuilt using OEM parts though.

Im doing the ls swap gsr tranny and t3/t4 hybrid on about 7-8 psi...possibly a little higher.

:eh: A complete h22 swap is cheaper than a full b16 or b18c swap and what's so expensive? Maybe the hasport mounts. That's about it. Someone actually made a thread all with a shit load of calculations just to show how the h22 isn't "very heavy".
