As long as you have the compression and you leak-down good. Why not boost on stock internals. Shmoo on here has a turbo GSR on stock internals...his mileage in into the 100+ range replaced his rings and he is good to go. Forget what PSI he is running but i believe he said he will be at about 10psi after getting it tuned.

I know also of 2 other turbo ls motors, one with 140k and one with 180k both on stock internals, the 180k was rebuilt using OEM parts though.

Im doing the ls swap gsr tranny and t3/t4 hybrid on about 7-8 psi...possibly a little higher.
