Uh, what I think happend is his original motor he usually ran was beuing rebuilt, so he got a spare to run and the oil pump blew, so he returned it and got another motor. Not to sure if thats how the story goes though.

first motorr blew (that one is in the process of being built for 20+ psi), the second picked up from a junkyard, ran good, did a valve adjustment, no more smoke. motor went after oil pump took a shit. now has replacement motor, which may be having issues once again.

at the track today it was blowing blue smoke hardcore, but it ran strong. its possible that the turbo may need rebuilt since the oil pump went and it was probably starved from oil. it has a pretty good amount of shaft play. that turbo cost more then the damn motor did. hopefully itll last until the end of summer

yep

well it was assembled & beat on at the track today.. ran 14.5 pretty consistantly with my horrible launches.. absolutly NO traction in any part of second gear.. & 90 degree weather. It was fun.. bunch of smoke.. i'll give it a valve adjustment this week & see if it clears up my smokage. This one just needs to make it till the end of the summer coz i have a block gettin ready to be sleeved & what not very soon here.

yea yea! :chuckles:

well last night i took it for a drive & it was smokin pretty bad when i get off the gas & it's at an idle after driving. I checked the charge pipes & they were completly dry, so my turbo isn't leakin oil on the charge side. I'm gonna do a compression test & get to the valve adjustment tonight.. hopfully that helps it out.

Compression test:
1 = 190
2 = 188
3 = 190
4 = 190
pretty much perfect

Did a valve adjustment, it took away a little bit of the smoke but definatly not all of it.

I have a feeling that the exhaust side of the turbo is leaking oil somewhere. & thats where the smoke & burnt oil smell is comming from. Not sure yet tho.

I don't appear to be low on any fluids after all night of driving tho.
