you said you painted it, and its really clean? Then you can get more $ out of it. Some people are willing to pay more for an auto (since the auto trannys cost more).
Just put your car in the paper and see what you might get for it. And then make up your mind.

Hell, you might be able to sell the car for as much as you can buy a clean 5 spd, and still have 1000$ left over for a paint job.
see but then, its really hard to find a car that im lookin for which is: 96-00 civic, 5-speed, 4-door, silver, LOW mileage (below 70,000), got taken care of (with regular services), and in good condition, THEN comes the registration for the car again, which was 600 for the civic i have now and taking all the parts i put into it and make it stock again...both options of selling the car or payin a grand to swap it to manual has its pros and cons...thas why im still debating which would be more time saving/money saving...it would be nice to hear more opinions

The hardest part is getting someone to weld in a MT mount, since you cannot use the Auto one (unless you fabricate a connector). You might have to pay a welder to come out to you, or tow it to them.

thats only a problem with 5th gens.

I've been quoted from $700-$1500 for converting to 5spd. but honestly, I love automatic waaaay too much h: stick is fun, but auto lets you multi-task.

btw, for the past 90,000 miles on my car, I've driven it downshifting and upshifting on the autostick. sure, it sucks to not drop down into first, but my tranny hasn't suffered much for a car with 150k miles. and its fun as hell. just be sure you always park it with the ebrake up

I have only ever owned a 3, 4, 5, and 6 speed manual truck/cars... So I have not had to suffer with an auto, I dont think I could ever go auto, I just cant stand them...

And as for your problem, If you really want to convert it, then do alot of research before you do. And good luck, I hope you have alot of Asprin....

I don't think the conversion is as hard as some people make it out to be. Im gonna have it done next year on my 94 accord. As for the tranny mounting bracket, for accords you can drill another hole on the bracket where the stock manual bracket would usually have one. Also the clutch pedal mounts onto the master cylinder bracket on my 5th gen so no fabricating needed there im pretty sure. I would find some people who have already had it done for your specific car and see if its that simple.
